January	Dr. Keith G. MacDonald appointed Chief of Medical Staff and Medical Affairs Coordinator. January 13 On behalf of the citizens of Mississauga, Mayor Hazel McCallion signs promissory note to raise $8.5 million.
May	May 19 Sketch plans of Hospital approved by the Ministry of Health.
July	Ministry of Health approves funding of the construction of the Hospital.
October	October 8 Acquisition of the property for the main Hospital site at Eglinton Avenue West and Erin Mills Parkway from Cadillac Fairview Corp. Ltd. October 14 Turning of the Sod Ceremony.
