Frequently Asked Questions »

What is H1N1?
Human H1N1 influenza is a respiratory illness that causes symptoms similar to those of the seasonal flu including:

  • Fever
  • Fatigue
  • Lack of appetite
  • Coughing
  • Sore throat
  • Some people with human swine influenza have also reported vomiting and diarrhea

How will I know if I have the flu?
A Flu self-assessment tool is available at www.ontario.ca/flu to help you decide if you need medical attention.
If the assessment tool recommends you get medical attention, or if your symptoms get worse, call Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000 or call your doctor.
